Teddy Bridgewater is a tremendous athlete
Teddy Bridgewater is easily the most athletic QB in the country. He does everything. He is a great passer, he runs the ball, and he sees the field. He is like having another coach out there.
He has played at a high level his whole life. He led Northwestern to a state title as a sophomore. That says a lot.
He is a tremendous athlete, who I can see becoming a great QB for UM.
As far as comparisons to Jacory coming out high school, Bridgewater is more athletic. Jacory had proven decision-making skills because that was his main position in high school. read more...

The Defense is the Key to the SeasonAfter the loooooooong wait the season is finally here. The Canes will run through the smoke with high expectations because the talent level is as good as they have had in probably 6 to 8 years. Seems like it has been 15. One thing that always plagues Miami is they are suffocated by the weight of history and those expectations.
I expect the offense to be more explosive than last year when the Canes averaged 399 yards and
31 points a game. Wide receiver Leonard Hankerson has separated himself from the other receivers and is in line for a monster year. Hankerson read more...

Observations as Training Camp Finishes UpOne thing that I really noticed in the last scrimmage was the energy level. It seemed like the team had broken out of the training camp duldrums. Both sides of the football played with a lot of energy, they challenged each other, and it seemed like they knew the regular season was right around the corner.
One position group that has really elevated their play since the start of fall practice is the TE group. Richard Gordon, Chase Ford, Asante Cleveland and Billy Sanders have all raised their game.
Yes, I am concerned about the time missed by Joel Figueroa. Miami needs read more...

Canes throw away Super Regionals in GainesvilleFielding 101: Catch the ball, throw the ball....
Entering Saturday night, UM was down to a win-or-go home for the summer scenario. Game one went the way of the Gators, Friday night by a score of 7-2. Now, with Super Regionals being the best-of-3, UM had to find a way to scratch out a win in game 2, and hope for the best after that. I doubt anybody saw this coming; a gargantuan, monumental collapse of epic fielding proportions...
The game started off as a pitchers duel as Canes junior lefty, Chris Hernandez was popping the mitt with fastballs and was flat out read more...

A Perfect StartWith the look of a heavyweight fighter, the Miami Hurricanes came out swinging at FAMU and ten minutes into the game the Rattlers already needed the smelling salts. Mark Whipple had the Canes offense operating without a huddle for most of the first quarter and Jacory Harris found Leonard Hankerson twice for touchdowns which set the tone for Miami's 45-0 win over Florida A & M.
Six pack of things that I loved..
*Jacory's execution, consistency and his ability to get multiple receivers involved.
*Hank proving that he is the Hurricanes most dangerous receiver by making big back-breaking plays.
*Seeing drives that featured Damien Berry, Lamar read more...

It's All about the D (9/2)A quick question: If Chris Fowler says Miami should be ranked 19th, and not 13th, then should we call him a homer the way me, DBJ, Curtis and WIll were in the pre-game becasue we said Miami would go 10-2 or 11-1 and win the ACC CHampionship. What gives?
Allright, onto the 45-0 shalacking of FAMU. Yes, the 405 total yards of no-huddle up offense was nice. But the one play, in my opinion that meant more than all the others was Ray-Ray Armstrong's 22-yard interception return for a TD.
Why?
It's pretty simple. All the attention is on the offense. That's where the read more...
